Website Creation
Creating a website can be an easy and fun process — when you’re working with the right person and the right technology. I use Joomla CMS for all our projects. This open-source software allows me to create a high-end website quickly. When I’m finished, you – the website owner — will be able to manage it and make any changes you want all by yourself.
Creating a basic website should take no more than 2-3 days. A more complex website should take 5-10 days. Once I receive the specs, I will provide you with a URL where you can monitor your site’s progress as it’s being created. It’s a simple step-by-step process:
- Install Joomla.
- Basic Joomla configuration.
- Install the template.
- Replace the logo with the logo that you provide.
- Install basic Joomla extensions.
- Build the correct architecture.
- Add your content.
- Create the navigation.
- Add any features you’ve specified in the spec document, such as Event Calendar, Shopping Cart, etc.
- Add modules (these are items that are not displayed in the main area of the site.)
- Create the home page.
- Add Google Analytics tracking code.
- Enable Search Engine Friendly URLs (SEF).
- Test site to ensure everything works.
- Create a video tutorial for you that explains everything.
- Move site to production environment.
- Test site again.
Throughout this process, and when you take delivery of the completed site, you will be able to communicate with me about any changes you might like to make.
Training
In addition to the completed site, I will also provide you with a video that explains how to use the site’s management features. This video is a part of the package and is provided at no additional cost.
Although I will be available for questions, my goal is to empower you to manage your site by yourself.
Speed
The better the specs, the faster I work. I’ve been told I work as fast as five people, so be prepared to be amazed at how fast your site will be up, running and looking good.
